To suppress distortion and increase surface hardness, nitriding hardening is used.

Compared to carbonization, deformation and dimensional changes are minimal!

- It is possible to achieve a surface hardness of 800 HV or higher even with low carbon steel. - The amount of gas used is about 1/10 of that for gas nitriding. - There is a high resistance to temper softening. - The finish is better compared to carburizing and similar processes. - Corrosion resistance is better than that of carburizing.

Surface hardening heat treatment method "Nitriding Quenching"

Heat treatment technology that finishes thin materials firmly without distortion! Capable of short delivery times.

This is a new surface hardening heat treatment method that allows nitrogen to infiltrate and diffuse into steel, followed by quenching from the austenite state. By allowing nitrogen to infiltrate and then quenching, a surface hardness of about 850 HV can be achieved even with inexpensive SPCC materials, and it is possible to increase hardness within the range where nitrogen has diffused. The amount of distortion is about half that of carburizing nitriding quenching and only slightly larger than gas soft nitriding. The friction coefficient and seizure surface pressure are almost equivalent to those of carburizing nitriding quenching and gas soft nitriding, while the wear amount is favorable at half that of carburizing nitriding materials and one-third that of gas soft nitriding materials. 【Features】 - The surface roughness of the samples after treatment is good. - The time required for treatment can be significantly reduced to about one-third to one-fourth of that for gas soft nitriding. - It has a tempering softening resistance comparable to that of carburizing. - The amount of distortion is about half that of carburizing nitriding. - Superiority in friction and wear characteristics has been demonstrated. *For more details, please refer to the catalog or feel free to contact us.

Surface hardening heat treatment method "Nitriding Quenching" *Prototyping and test processing available

Reduce distortion caused by quenching! A new surface hardening heat treatment method that does not warp even thin materials.

"Diffusion Nitriding" is a new surface hardening heat treatment method that allows nitrogen to infiltrate and diffuse into steel, followed by quenching from the austenite state. By introducing nitrogen and performing quenching, surface hardness of approximately 850 HV can be achieved even with inexpensive SPCC materials, and it is possible to increase hardness within the range where nitrogen has diffused internally. At ITEC, we provide a consistent process from mold design to pressing, heat treatment, and surface treatment, offering high-precision metal parts with our extensive know-how. ■ Currently recruiting for prototype and test processing! ■ 【Features】 ■ Good surface roughness of the samples after treatment ■ The time required for treatment can be significantly reduced to about 1/3 to 1/4 of that for gas soft nitriding ■ Has a tempering softening resistance comparable to that of carburizing ■ Approximately half the amount of distortion compared to carburizing nitriding ■ Demonstrated superiority in friction and wear characteristics *For more details on N-Quench, please refer to the PDF available for download.

Attention those troubled by distortion during heat treatment! A new heat treatment method that can also handle thin materials.

Reduce distortion by 50% with the conventional quenching method! A new surface hardening heat treatment method, "Nitriding Quenching," that does not warp even with thin materials. *Prototyping and test processing available.

Aitec's "Nitriding Quenching" is a new surface hardening heat treatment method that allows nitrogen to permeate and diffuse into steel, followed by quenching from the austenite state. By introducing nitrogen and performing quenching, a surface hardness of about 850 HV can be achieved even with inexpensive SPCC material, and it is possible to increase hardness within the range where nitrogen has diffused internally! ~ Currently recruiting for prototype and test processing! ~ 【Benefits of Nitriding Quenching】 ■ Useful as an alternative surface hardening method for components ■ Effective for components that require low distortion ■ Capable of hardening throughout the interior ■ Achieves a deeper hardened layer in a shorter time than gas soft nitriding treatment *For details, please refer to the PDF available for download below or feel free to contact us.

Zero CO2 Emissions: New Heat Treatment Method 'Nitriding Quenching' with Minimal Distortion Even for Thin Materials

A new heat treatment method that contributes to "reduced environmental impact" and "low distortion" compared to conventional carburizing quenching! Zero CO2 emissions with ammonia quenching.

Aitec's "Nitriding Hardening" is a surface hardening heat treatment method characterized by low distortion, which involves the infiltration and diffusion of nitrogen into steel and quenching from the austenite state. This heat treatment method allows nitrogen to infiltrate and dissolve in the austenite region (γ) of the Fe-N2 binary phase diagram. It then rapidly cools to produce hard nitrogen martensite. Unlike conventional "carburizing hardening," this process uses ammonia for quenching, resulting in zero CO2 emissions during the treatment process! It can be proposed as a new treatment method that considers environmental impact. **Benefits of Nitriding Hardening** ★ No CO2 emissions from quenching with ammonia - High surface hardness of HMV800 or more even with SPCC material - Lower quenching temperature than carburizing, resulting in low distortion (with a proven example of 50% reduction in distortion) - High resistance to softening - Total cost reduction without distortion correction ~ "Decarbonized Heat Treatment Nitriding Hardening Seminar" Video Now Available for Free! ~ ◆ Theme: Decarbonized Heat Treatment Nitriding Hardening Seminar Exploring the Possibilities from Carburizing to Nitriding ◆ Available Video: Nitriding Hardening Mass Production & Development Cases ◆ How to View: From the YouTube link at the bottom of this page *For more detailed information, please refer to the technical materials available for download in the [PDF Download] section below.

N Quench (Nitriding Hardening)

The finishing skin is good! The processing time is short, and a 20μ curing layer can be obtained in 40 minutes.

"N-Quench (Nitriding Quenching)" is a treatment method that allows nitrogen to penetrate and dissolve in steel within the austenite region of the Fe-N phase diagram, followed by rapid cooling to obtain hard nitrogen martensite. In nitriding quenching, the nitrided layer hardens into nitrogen martensite due to rapid cooling, but the interior does not harden because it is cooled from below the transformation temperature of the Fe-C system. Furthermore, the thermal treatment distortion (dimensional change) is comparable to that of gas soft nitriding. 【Features】 ■ Hardness of HV800 or higher can be achieved even with low carbon steel. ■ The amount of gas used is extremely small, about 1/10 of that used in gas soft nitriding. ■ Processing time is short, with a hardened layer of 20μ obtained in 40 minutes. ■ The finish is good. ■ The treatment is environmentally friendly. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
